The cutest maternity costume ideas involve a little non-toxic paint and some creative artistic efforts to decorate the belly and really celebrate the pregnancy. If you are hesitant to expose your pregnant belly, reflect cutting a whole in your base costume (like the top or dress). This will let your pregnant belly fling through without exposing your support or other areas. Translation: You’ll still feel modest and dressed, but everyone else will regain to see your cute, decorated belly.

Gypsy With Crystal Belly

Purchase a gypsy costume in your normal size or slightly larger. Carefully cut a hole to affirm your belly. Paint your pregnant stomach to look like a crystal ball with white paint. Add swirls of light blues and purples, silvers, greens and outline the stomach in a darker color. You can even add a coating of cosmetic glitter for some sparkle. Execute preparing your hair and face makeup to complete the gypsy witness. Whether you go out to a party or stay home for trick-or-treaters you’ll be ready to stutter everyone’s fortunes.

Candy Girl

Paint your pregnant belly to resemble the globe on a gumball machine by drawing gumball sized circles in many different colors. Manipulate your top and pants to finish the gumball machine either by sewing the machine base or just painting it on old-fashioned sweatpants. Use face paint for some over-the-top, editorial fashion make-up with lots of bright colors to resemble candy. Pour candy sprinkles on a allotment of paper. Put on a thick layer of obvious lip gloss and “kiss” the paper so the sprinkles stick to your lips for “candy lips.” Carry a big, colorful lollipop and keep a bag of gumballs hidden for the smarties who try to get some out of your belly.

Belly Dancer

Most belly dancing costumes come in a midriff baring two-piece resembling “I Dream of Jeannie.” Flaunt your pregnant belly with a little humor as a true “belly” dancer. Include some finger cymbals and a coin belt for added jingle. To really be the hit of the party, rent a few belly dancing DVDs and learn some simple moves like the shimmy to show off.

Treasure Troll

Take a cue from the 90s trend and let everyone see your treasure. Wear a skin-toned leotard with a hole to let your belly bump protrude. Put a glitter sheen all over your belly and stick a large (at least 3 inches in diameter) fake gem in your belly button. Dye your hair with temporary hair dye in either hot pink or lime green. Use heavy duty mousse to fabricate your hair stick straight up and out. The original Treasure Trolls were naked, so you can exercise markers to scheme your butt crack on the back of the leotard, or just wear shorts to match your hair color.

Buddha Belly

Purchase a black topknot wig (usually sold for sumo wrestler costumes) and a skin-toned leotard. Cut a hole to reveal your belly. Over the skin-toned leotard, fashion a loin cloth from black or brown cloth and cord. Wear brown sandals and let everyone rub your belly for splendid luck all during Halloween.

Bowl Fat of Jelly

To really surprise your Halloween guests, go as a pregnant Santa Claus. Insist on eating cookies and drinking milk all night. Skip the fake beard and honest use cute-make up to make your cheeks rosy under that Santa hat.

Sci-Fi

What’s more perfect for Halloween than an alien infestation to explain your big belly? Wear normal street clothes with a hole in the top to reveal your belly. Purchase a toy alien doll, preferably as realistic feeling as possible, and lots of green toy goo. Cut the alien doll in half so you have his head and arms and secure it to your belly so it looks like the creature is busting out of you. Paint on fake blood and add lots of green goo on your stomach and the alien.

Naughty or Nice

You can also take advantage of your pregnancy to hump a itsy-bitsy fun at traditional costumes. Pick an innocent theme, like a nun, angel, school girl or high school cheerleader, and make them pregnant. Usually, the normal (non-plus size or maternity) costume will work. The opinion is to let your pregnancy be obvious, so let it poke out of the cheerleading two-piece or sexy angel dress. Pairing a plaid mini skirt and pigtails with the pregnant belly will definitely keep the Halloween party guests laughing. This idea also works for a pregnant Britney Spears costume.

Disturbed M.I.L.F.

If you’re looking for a reaction from your Halloween guests, go as a trashy M.I.L.F. Wear a wife beater pulled up over your belly and a mini skirt. Poof up the hair Texas style with blond highlights and add over the top makeup. Use lipstick to write “Drinking for Two” on your belly and wander around with a virgin cocktail drink all night. Witness out for Defax.

Preggo Skeleton

Cut out white bones from felt and glue them in the proper place on a black leotard or sweat suit. Cut out a baby skeleton and glue the shape on your belly (below your own felt “ribs”).

My Thoughts on Halloween

It’s that time of year again; little children will be cavorting round our streets, exchanging our chocolately delights for their disturbingly cute faces, that’s right it’s Halloween. Once again it’s rolled back around, people stocking up on sweets to stop the offspring of others from throwing eggs or toilet paper at our homes.

Or like me, I’m going away, I can’t stand it, I know I’m being grumpy, but it’s just a little over rated in my opinion, if you want sweets as a child you ask for them, that’s really it, or get a job and buy it, that being the worst case scenario. What doesn’t really click with me is those people that let their children out by themselves to go trick or treating, I mean there are ware wolves wondering the streets, what will happen then?

I suppose Halloween is only second to Christmas in terms of money spent for no right reason. Nobody knows the reason for Halloween, I’ll let you Google it, but really no one really has a complete retort, it’s just a day to masquerade as the devil himself, and pull comic immature tricks on people with no real consequence. But back to the money, people spend so much on this holiday, in America alone it has become one of the largest national holidays and don’t they know it? Just parties, outfits, sweets, always the sweets, just so much.

Sweet companies must have a field day when it comes to the profits during this kind of year, I imagine the workers to be as we imagine elves, and they work all year for this one magical day to sell everything, net one to three days holiday, and then start all over again.

Nevertheless there is always a silver lining, to every disappointing thing, I can find something to enjoy about it, and this is the parties, Halloween parties are the best, coming in halt behind you’re 18th birthday party, they are the best, Pimps and Sluts, need I say more?

I find the best part of Halloween is most exclusively the morning after, when you awake to find that you peaceful have sweets left, something that you have bought, and not given away all of it. You can hold them to yourself, and be 4 years old all over again, still dressed in your oversize sumo wrestler costume that you wore to go to the care for dress party you were meant to attend, but didn’t because you got distracted by the obsolete horror movies on TV, and wanted some nostalgia.

I hope you have a fun time with your Halloween, but I’ll stick to my jumbo sized bucket of marshmallows and the entire collection of Frankenstein films.

State of Consciousness

Samantha lay in the bed unable to sleep. This is the fourth time this week. There was just some sort of uneasiness about her that she couldn’t put her finger on. She was 25 years old but ever since she was eighteen, the dreams or “premonitions,” as she liked to call them, have been getting stronger. For years after her eighteenth birthday, she had been somewhat able to suppress them but just within the last year, the dreams have started to consume her.

Maybe her doctor could prescribe a sleeping abet for her. She made a mental tag to call the doctor in the morning.

She glanced at the clock, 3:30 a.m. “May as well get up,” she whispered to herself. She rose from her bed and grabbed her housecoat. Her parent’s house was ridiculously quiet. She thought this to be odd, so she stood in the center of the living room, looking around and admiring the Christmas decorations, to see if she could hear anything…possibly a dog barking outside or the house creaking as it settled…nothing. The quite eeriness matched her mood. I guess she was just so use to the nighttime sounds of New York City that she found the complete silence disturbing. She sighed and headed towards the kitchen. She was a bit hungry. She hadn’t eaten considerable for dinner and was paying for it now. It was the holidays and tomorrow was Christmas Eve. Christmas in Vermont was impartial gorgeous. Since she moved to New York City, she has enjoyed coming home for the holidays because she missed it so much. It was a small town and everyone knew everyone else. All of her family was together again under her parents roof with the exception of her brother James, who was fighting overseas in Iraq. She said a peaceful prayer for him and all the troops’ safety.

Her baby sister Amy, who also lives in New York City, was arriving tomorrow with her new boyfriend. This was really nothing new to us because she has a new boyfriend every month. Maddie, her oldest sister was already here with her husband of three months. No one saw that one coming. Her company had moved her to Detroit, Michigan a couple of years ago and that is when she met her husband Jay. Jay insisted on everyone calling him by his nickname “Lucky”. He explains it as him being incredibly lucky to have met Maddie. She opinion it was a bit cheesy but what does she know… still single. Soon after, they returned to Bellum, Vermont to start a family. They have been here about 2 months now and were adjusting quite nicely. She missed home. Madison was always a home body. All during dinner, Sam noticed how Jay kept staring at her with a smirky smile that said I fair ate the canary. She was beginning to not like that guy. She pushed the thought of Jay out of her mind and grabbed the sandwich she just made and headed towards the couch to watch some TV. She turned down the TV so she would not wake up her grandparents who slept lightly in the guest room.

Her grandparents were talking and she turned her head towards the guest room. Her grandparents were up and she wondered why? They were talking so low that she couldn’t make out what they were saying. Samantha thought she heard her grandmother crying. Samantha sat quietly on the sofa and closed her eyes and concentrated on her grandparents. She slowed her breathing to the point of almost non-existing and when she opened her eyes, she was standing in her grandparent’s room. Satisfied now, that she was able to hear better, she began to understand why her grandmother was crying. “I cannot believe I have lung cancer,” she heard her grandmother say. Samantha was freaking out at the knowledge of this. He Grammy, lung cancer! Samantha instantly felt shaken and helpless. She listened to them a bit longer. Her grandfather was lying in the bed beside of her Grammy trying his best to comfort her. “We should wait until after the holidays to boom the grandchildren. I don’t want to spoil anyone’s Christmas.” My grandfather nodded in agreement with her. I had enough. My grandmother was going to die and there was nothing that I could do about it. I concentrated on my lifeless body on the sofa and returned to it and opened my eyes.

Astral projection was something that I had learned to do at an early age. It always came in handy when I wanted to procure something out and I have always kept the secret hidden from my family and friends for the sheer fact of them thinking I was crazy. If they knew, they would probably have a lot of strange occurrences in their lives explained. But, I will never tell them for I like having the secret and the ability and I don’t want to jeopardize myself. Whenever I wanted to know something, I sit quietly, slow my breathing and concentrate on the person I wanted to know about and I would instantly appear in front of them. It was that easy.

Feeling was worse than ever. She glanced at the TV and started flipping through the channels. She stopped on the murder investigation that was taking place here in Bellum. The murders made national news and were on all the news channels. This spooked her to the core. There had never been anything like this before in her rural town. Everyone was talking about it and she wished the FBI, who had been called in to investigate, would find the killer. “Oh, no,” she said. “Not another one.” An eighth girl had been found murdered last night three blocks from her house. Her senses were worried awake and she began to panic. She waited for the information to come aid around so that she could see who it was. Sam almost fainted. It was Garrison Martin, the girl from her dream! Garrison had been one of her closest friends in high school and they had lost touch after graduation. Sam attended college at NYU and Garrison went to Princeton, forcing them to rupture the bond that they once shared, speaking only when they returned home for the holidays. Sam was supposed to have lunch with her today because Garrison wanted to talk to her about something really important. Sam had no opinion as to what it was, but Garrison seemed really excited about it.

Tears immediately started forming in her eyes. She was crying for Garrison and her family and she was also crying for her own safety because in her mind, no one in Bellum was superb. Sometime during the early morning of the hours, she fell into a fitful sleep with tears still novel on her cheek.

Sam awoke the next morning half on and half off the couch. In the kitchen, she could hear her mother and grandmother talking about Garrison while they made breakfast. She sat up on the couch to get her composure. When she finally did focus, she noticed her brother-in-law Jay, sitting quietly in the chair diagonal from her just watching her, with no expression on his face. She frowned, pulled her robe together and mumbled “morning Jay” to him. He responded with a barely audible “Lucky.” She just looked at him and thought “freak is more like it” and went upstairs to shower. She was going to visit Garrison’s parents.

Sam walked the three blocks to the Martin’s home. She walked up the sidewalk and hesitated a moment before ringing the bell. She was quite sure bile was rising up her throat and she forced it assist down by swallowing. After feeling somewhat under control, she rang the bell. Someone she didn’t recognize opened the door for her and invited her in. She told the older looking lady that she was a friend of Garrison’s and was here to pay her condolences to her parents. The lady directed her through the foyer into the living room. There were mounds of people there and moving about the room was almost impossible. She looked around the room and spotted Garrison’s parents sitting on the couch. They were both in tears and disjointedly speaking to some friends. She looked away and saw a guy about her age sitting in a skim backed chair sobbing uncontrollably. Garrison was an only child so she knew that the guy wasn’t her brother. “Maybe he is a distant relative,” she told herself. She searched the room again, looking to earn a familiar face but instead she notices long tables placed against the wall. They were decorated nicely with linen tablecloths and piles of food were placed upon them. Sam immediately felt guilty for not bringing anything. “Samantha,” she heard. She swung around to face Garrison’s parents, her mother dabbing at her eyes. “We idea that was you dear. How are you? How are you parents? ” Unbelievable…In their time of misfortune and need, they selflessly think of others. They have always been that way and it showed in Garrison. She was the most selfless person she knew. “They are doing well, thank you.” I choked out. I continued. “They told me to snort you that they would be by shortly.” I forced myself to go on. “I just wanted you to know that I am so very sorry for your loss. I loved Garrison like she was my own sister. I can’t believe this has happened to her.” Do the police have any leads at all? ” They smiled weakly at Sam and if at all possible, her heart broke a itsy-bitsy more. “No,” she heard them say. “They did find another rabbit on the scene though. One of the officers told me that each of the murder victims have been found with a dead rabbit’s with a foot missing in the room with them.” All I could do was just look at them. “How strange,” I thought to myself. I snapped out of it and gave them both a hug. “Garrison always loved you,” Mrs. Martin began. “She had always told us that if she could have had a sister, that she wanted her to be you.” Sam smiled, because she faintly remembered having a conversation with Garrison over that very topic. “Thank you,” Sam replied through tears. Mrs. Martin pointed to the guy in the chair who was now trying to stop the tears, but was doing a awful job of it. “That was Garrison’s fiancé. They were planning to be married this summer. She was going to ask you to be her maid of honor because she had no sisters.” “Well, she did it,” I thought to myself. “She has made my heart break completely in two.” I looked up unprejudiced in time to see my parents approach us. “Perfect timing,” I just didn’t know what to say to that. I spotted some friends and began to mingle all the while wondering why the police haven’t disclosed the information that the serial killer has been leaving calling cards.

Upon taking my leave, I ran into an old boyfriend. It was painful to see him again because it was THAT kind of a relationship. We should have married, but circumstances kept us from it. I realized, as I watched him, that I still loved him. We have been broken up for two years but the feelings would always be there. I would treasure him until the day I died. He spotted me and hurried over.

“You made detective. Congratulations.” I said, not knowing what else to say. He awkwardly answered “yes,” how did you know? I smiled and told him that my parents felt the need to keep me informed of his life. Anthony asked me how long I was in town and I answered that I leave the day after Unusual Years. “Do you mind if I stop by sometime before you leave? ” he asked. I smiled and told him that I would like that. We talked a slight while longer, switching our topic to the murders. I asked him why the secrecy over the rabbits and he told me that the FBI didn’t want to alert the killer that they were narrowing clues through process of elimination. They were looking into the symbolism of rabbits and who in the city or surrounding cities have rabbits or raise them. If they get a lead, they didn’t want to tip the killer off so they were downplaying the rabbit thing for now.

While I was walking home I thought about his answer to the question of why the killer would leave a rabbit. I thought that was a little eccentric not to mention expensive. I couldn’t get past the oddity of it. Tony explained to me that serial killers like to be eccentric and they like being different. He asked me if I remembered the killer in Texas a few years ago who left kisses on his victim’s cheeks in red lipstick. He told me that kind of behavior was a clue inside the killer’s mind and that eventually they would hang themselves if given enough rope. I remembered. They arrested the killer last year who turned out to be a transsexual who wore only red lipstick. One of the department stores turned in a man who bought a Chanel sign of red lipstick in large quantities and they thought that a little suspicious. Instead of women being murdered, he murdered men. That was creepy.

That night, my parents and grandparents left for a Christmas party. Amy, Madison and I were hanging out. Jay and Thomas, Amy’s modern boyfriend, went out for a bit of last minute Christmas shopping, which in boy terms meant, they went to get a beer at a local bar somewhere. We girls were cool with that. We made popcorn, dished on guys and put in “It’s a Wonderful Life” one of our favorite movies. I was in the kitchen popping more popcorn when Amy came in and asked me what was wicked with Maddie. I told her that I didn’t think anything was wrong with her. Distinct, she had been uncharistically unexcited these past couple of days, but maybe she just has something on her mind. “Maybe,” was all Amy said? She informed me that she was heading out to Zach’s spot, a local bar, to go and hang out with Thomas. I looked at the clock on the wall; it was 9:30 p.m. “You lasted longer than I thought you would. Have fun.” Amy laughed as she walked from the room. “I will,” she yelled back.

I went back into the living room and offered Madison some popcorn. “No thanks, I am going to bed. I feel a bit tired.” She said, without looking up at me. Being that Amy brought Maddie’s mood to my attention, I started to question her, but didn’t. “Goodnight, hope you sleep well,” was all I said. I finished watching the movie and went to bed myself. I was feeling tired as well from the lack of sleep this week. I stopped by Madison’s room and peeked in on her. She was sleeping soundly. I giggled to myself when I saw that she was naked. Ever since we were little girls, she has never liked sleeping in clothes, fair her underwear. I tiptoed over to her nightstand and was just about to turn out the lamp when I noticed long deep scratches on her back. It looked like someone had taken microscopic razors and scratched her randomly on the back. I was definitely going to ask her about that in the morning.

Lying in my bed, I had a really hard time falling asleep. I kept seeing the image of Madison’s back in my head. It looked gruesome. I heard Mom and Dad reach in with my grandparents. It was nearly midnight. I think I finally drifted asleep around 1a.m. It was a fitful sleep.

I woke up with a dizzy feeling. “Shit” I said, “what is it going to take for me to get some sleep? ” I glanced at the clock, 3:30 a.m. While sitting up in bed, I held my head in my hands for just a moment as if trying to steady the spinning which was making me feel really dizzy. I stood up. It was time to head downstairs for a snack and some late night TV, again. I grabbed my robe, or at least tried to because when I went to pick it up, my hand went right through it. I screamed and jumped back a few inches, not really caring if I woke anyone in the house or not. I was freaked for a moment but then quickly calmed and thought, “did I astral project in my sleep? ” I answered yes and laughed because that was a first and a new experience for me. I did have Maddie on my mind when I went to bed and that could have triggered the projection. That is when I looked down and noticed my body asleep on the bed. I breathed a sigh of relief. At least I was alive. I tried to think how to wake myself up. It didn’t work to try and shake me awake because I unprejudiced went straight through myself. I looked down and I was not touching the floor, but instead, floating just inches above it. “This is freaky,” I yelled loudly, again trying to awaken anyone. Again, my attempt failed.

I started thinking about Amy and started floating towards her room. I went through the door to find that she and Thomas collected were not in. Where they hell were they? It was the middle of the night. I opinion about my parents and started floating towards their room. I was relieved when I saw them sleeping soundly in their bed.

I plan about my family and focused on Madison. Within seconds, I was upstairs in her room watching her and that freakish husband of hers sleeping. I calmed myself and decided to lay down on top of her, in hopes that it would shed some light on how she got those marks on her back. I was inside Maddie’s head now and we were in the bathroom at her house. The door was closed and she was sitting on the floor with her head in her hand and sobbing silently. Something was on the floor beside of her. I turned my head to get a closer look. “Oh my, Maddie’s pregnant!” How wonderful, I conception. Then I realized that Madison was not happy. Why was she crying? The pregnancy test lay beside her on the floor proudly displaying a smiley face, indicating that she was pregnant. Just then, I looked up to the sound of the bathroom door being kicked open. There stood “Lucky” gazing down on Maddie with contempt. “What’s this,” he bellowed, looking at the pregnancy test on the floor. He bent down to retract it up and the shock of what he just realized threw him into a rage. He grabbed Madison up off the floor and began shoving her around in the small bathroom. “You bitch; I knew you were screwing around on me. Who is it? I am going to demolish him and you!” I kept hearing Madison scream, “You’re crazy, you’re crazy, I haven’t been sleeping with anyone. How can I when you recognize me so closely!” That enraged Jay even more and when he struck her across the face with his fist, we both cried out in pain. I felt the blow as if he were doing it to me too. That is when Maddie tried to fight befriend and get away. She was no match for him. He was twice her size and a lot stronger. He tore her shirt off and was clawing her back and I felt the dig of his fingernails, more like finger knives, into my, I mean Madison’s back. Growing tired of the struggle, he punched Madison and easily knocked her out; her fragile body slumping to the floor. I don’t know why it didn’t knock me out. If I can feel everything that Madison feels, shouldn’t it have knocked me out too?

I was completely consumed with madden. All I could think about was Jay and getting into his mind. I got my wish soon enough. I opened my eyes to find us behind a building of some kind. It was nighttime. The position of the moon in the sky gave me a clue that it was pretty late, maybe one or two in the morning. Why wasn’t I cold, I wondered? It was December after all in Vermont of all places. We were in a pretty secluded spot and the more I got my bearings, the more I realized that I was in the back of Zach’s bar. “What the hell are we doing here? ” I started to become fearful, but I didn’t know why. I would have to wait if I wanted to figure this mystery out. Jay zipped up his pants and headed abet into the bar. It was pretty empty now except for the bartender and a couple of drunks face down on the bar. There was a couple dancing in the corner opposite Jay. I looked closely. It was Amy and Thomas! Damn, this was just a few hours before! I was really feeling nervous now, but I still didn’t know why. This was my family – well except for the psychopath whose body I have inhabited. I will design sure Maddie gets a divorce from this creep. Thomas and Amy walked over to the bar where Jay sat and Thomas ordered another beer but passed out face down before he got to drink it. Amy laughed, “Ok, that does it, we are leaving. Thomas is officially cut off.” Jay chimed in with a coarse chuckle himself. “Hey, before you go, let me show you what I got for Madison today. Shriek me if you think she will like it.” I sensed a trap. I wanted to scream don’t do it but it would be no utilize because Amy wouldn’t be able to hear me. The two of us walked outside, Amy first and Jay following behind her. “I’m parked around back,” I heard him say. My radar went off the charts because I was just back there and there were no cars around back. I was fearful, with good reason. As soon as Amy turned the corner to the help of the building, Jay grabbed her from behind, cupping his hand over her mouth to silence her screams. He grabbed a bandana out of his pocket then knocked her unconscious so he could easily tie it around her mouth. He bound her hands behind her back as well. “You slight slut, always struttin’ in front of me in your little tight sweaters and short skirts. Well, now you can have what you have been achin’ to get.” He ripped her clothes off of her and began to fuck her shamelessly. Amy started coming to in the middle of this barbarous act. I was distraught with emotion. All I could think about was Amy and getting the hell out of his body! I was successful in moving out of his body; just to land myself in Amy’s! The damage I felt, that Amy felt, was immense. My face hurt, my body hurt and the binds on my wrists were cutting through offering even more pain. Amy tried to yowl but the fabric in her mouth beat down her efforts. I started struggling against him only to be beaten harder by him. I could feel my face initiate to swell. He turned me around to face the building and then he sodomized me in every way. I couldn’t go. My whole body, including my face, was pressed so far up against the rough exterior of the building. I just wanted to die. I felt the fight pour right out of Amy. I kept chanting,” please Amy, don’t give up!” I was blinded by my tears, her tears and they showed no sign of letting up. This man was a demon and demons belonged in HELL! Finally, after what seemed hours, he flung Amy’s tiring, body to the ground. We just laid there, emotionless, unfeeling, not caring what happened next. He turned her over on her back so she could stare him. We looked at him with murder in our eyes. He had not broken Amy’s spirit! Die you bastard, die! We kept repeating that mantra over and over in our head. When he finished fixing his clothing, he looked down at Amy as if he knew what she was saying. He fumbled with his boot for a moment and then got down right close to her and whispered very eerily in her ear, “I will, but you first.” He raised his hand and for a split second I saw the glittering blade of the knife just before he plunged it deep into Amy’s chest. “He had killed her! That son of a bitch killed her!” I screamed but no one heard. I felt the life draining from Amy’s body. The gut wrenching agony was pouring from my body! I felt that the only thing keeping me from going into a million different directions was Amy’s skin. I was horrified, terrified, helpless and afraid for Madison!

My head turned at the slam of a door behind me. In one swift motion, Jay leaped over to where Thomas stood in horrible disbelief and slashed his throat. I watched him topple to the ground, unconscious; his life gushing out all around where he lay. All I could do was bellow. It was as if I were nailed to that very status. I couldn’t move. Even when Jay left I still couldn’t move. I felt as if my chest might cave in from lack of oxygen. I was completely stifled. A few moments later, Jay returned carried what look like a cage. He sat it down beside of Amy. I turned to get a closer look and almost fainted at the observe of a dead rabbit missing a leg. He looked at the bodies and laughed to himself. “One down, one to go, that sweet morsel of a sister of yourn is next. I have been waiting ta taste her. Know why they call me lucky? ” He said this as if he were actually having a conversation with Amy. “Because I have so many damn rabbit’s feet.”

“No, no, noooooooooooo!” I was completely mortified. He was the serial killer that the police have been looking for. Oh no, he plans to kill me next! What do I do? What do I do? ” I notion of myself lying on my bed asleep and immediately was transported back to my room. I lay down on top of myself and instantly woke up. I could feel the tears streaming down my face. I quickly sat up and looked at the clock. It read 3:30 a.m. “What the…How can that be? Had no time passed at all? ” I couldn’t think straight. I had to calm down. Amy, all I could deem about was Amy, she was dead. She and Thomas were tiresome. I began crying fresh tears. I turned on my bedside lamp and began pulling out clothes to dress in. I grabbed my cell phone and called Tony. I told him to meet me in front of my house in 15 minutes. He only lived a few blocks away so I knew this wouldn’t be a pickle. He could hear my hurt and didn’t question me but told me he would be here in 10. I finished dressing and walked quickly, but quietly as I could to Amy’s room, hoping, no, praying that I would fetch her there asleep. My heart fell when I saw that her bed was empty and still made. Seconds later, I was making my way down the stairs as quietly as I could because I didn’t want to wake anyone. As I was passing the kitchen, I was spooked when Jay jumped out in front of me. “Whare ya off ta in such a hurry? Got a date? ” I just looked at him. I couldn’t stutter. I couldn’t move. “Why are ya crying? Are ya alright? I continued to stare at him in horror. “I, I…” “Well, spit it out, cat got ya tongue? ” Relieved, I heard Tony pull up outside and I turned and ran out the door. I hopped in the car and told him to go. “Where,” he asked. With a heavy heart I replied, “To Zach’s bar; and Tony, call for backup. Do it now!” Tony didn’t ask questions but complied with my wishes. On the drive there I told him everything. I told him about how I couldn’t sleep, how I kept having funny feelings and dreams I couldn’t remember. I told him about the out of body experience that I had and how Jay beat Madison. I told him that I must have had more of them. Most importantly, I told him what happened at the bar and that Amy and Thomas were murdered by him, that he was the killer they were looking for. He confided in me that he believed me about the out of body experiences and explained he broke up with me because of the weirdness that I would mumble at night. It frightened him. He suspected that I was into witchcraft or something. I just looked at him, not really knowing what to say. “I am not a witch,” I finally said. “I know,” he answered back.

We were silent for a few moments and then he said to me, “Without some kind of evidence, I won’t be able to make an arrest. I can’t arrest someone based on an outer body experience.” I felt crushed and defeated by his words. “He can’t get away with this, Tony,” I whispered. Tony assured me that he wouldn’t.

We arrived at the bar at the same time the other squad cars did and Tony told me to stay in the car. I didn’t of course. I got out because I had to see for myself. It was true. There was Amy and Thomas lying where I last saw them. I was heartbroken over my baby sister and I fell to the ground crying. Tony picked me up and put me support in the car. I watched as he said something to one of the officers and he hurriedly got in the car. “Go to their house,” I said with conviction in my voice. “You want proof; I’ll salvage you some fucking proof!” I yelled. Brilliant Tony, he was already headed in that direction before I even mentioned it.

“I sent Lenny over to your house to alert your parents and I told him to specifically hold Jay there until I arrived.” I didn’t say anything for a few moments. “My parents are going to fall to pieces. They will not select this well, and my grandmother is ill and Madison is pregnant and can’t handle the stress. She could lose the baby.” At this point, I prayed that Madison had been sleeping around because I didn’t want her baby to be the offspring of evil.

Just before arriving at Madison’s house, Tony got a call informing him that Jay was not there. This shocked both of us. Tony ordered me to stay in the car and to sound the siren if anything happens. This time, I would obey. My sister lived in a secluded area surrounded by woods and we had somewhat of a long drive down the dirt driveway to reach their house. Once there, Tony left me in the car while he proceeded inside. He had already had a judge working on a search warrant so that he wouldn’t be civilly charged with breaking and entering. The minutes that passed seem to be hours. I was growing restless with every passing moment and I was scared to death. I tried to relax a little bit but one of the officers came across the radio to utter Tony that Madison was also missing. The gunshot brought me back to the moment. Without thinking, I jumped out of the car and ran inside. Tony lay unconscious on the floor. His shoulder was bleeding badly and I wondered if the bullet came close to his heart. He had scrapes and bruises on his face. I ran over to him. I checked for a pulse and got one. He was alive, but he was losing a lot of blood. He was knocked out. I chilled to the core when I turned around to see the familiar voice that said my name. “I’ll deal with your boyfriend later, accurate now, let’s deal with you.”

Within one quick miniature, he was on me and I couldn’t derive him off. I was fighting with sumo wrestler. I had no advantage. I didn’t know what to do; Tony was knocked out on the floor and Jay had his gun. He punched me, stunning me into submission. He ripped all my clothes off and began fondling my entire body. I slowly started getting my bearings back enough to try and fight him off. The attempt was unsuccessful. I had fallen to a rapist. I was his next victim and I was helpless against him. “Oh yes,” he spat. “You are a sweet, hot one. Much better than that dishtowel sister of yours I married.” I fought him with everything I had, but all that did was get me even more brutalized. My body felt numb, I was to the brink of unconsciousness…then I heard it…a gunshot…did I imagine it? The monstrous body fell forward on top of me and I knew that it was over. But how, Tony still lay unconscious on the floor. It took every bit of strength I had to acquire the murderer off of me. Finally with success, I stood up and looked toward the smoking gun. “Madison!” How did you know I was here? ” She stood silently pointing the gun at Jay as if begging him to stir so she could shoot him once again. She was trembling all over but still, she kept the pistol locked on him. I ran to Tony and tried to waken him. By that time the other officers followed by the FBI flooded the house. One of them took the gun from Madison and escorted her out. Lenny, the officer from the bar came over to Tony and I asked him how he knew we were in trouble. He told me that after several unsuccessful attempts to contact Tony, he figured something was terribly wrong.

The officer broke a smelly stick under Tony’s nose and he woke up instantly. I hugged him. He looked over and saw the coroner crooked over Jay’s body and looked at me questioningly. I started my story, but was told to wait until an officer could officially take it. A few minutes passed and then I started telling my story to the FBI. In the middle of my accountancy, a couple of officers rushed in carrying a broad cage with several rabbits in it. “Found it benefit in the woods,” that was all the officer said. Tony nodded and I resumed with my story. I left out the allotment about the out of body experience, and instead filled it in with a dream that led me to believe foul play on Jay’s fraction, tipping them that his funny behavior and the marks on Maddie’s back was my first clue. Tony just smiled at me and left it alone.

Madison was questioned and told not to leave the state. I think they believed her, but they just wanted to perform sure that she wasn’t an accomplice. She and I hugged each other and Tony took us home.

After the service, everyone began piling into our house. I was miserable and didn’t want to see anyone. Tony held me close and kissed me and promised me he would never let me go again. I looked around the room and everything seemed so surreal to me. My life would never be the same. There was so great food that I was distinct it would go to waste because there was no way we could eat it all. There were relatives that I haven’t seen in years. I just wanted to go away, far, far away. The doorbell rang and I opened it to find Mr. and Mrs. Martin standing there. They unprejudiced looked at me, they didn’t speak, but instead hugged me and we all stood in the doorway and cried together.

Often we think of sleep as a time when our senses all but shut off. It seems as if our resting mind becomes wrapped in a filter through which common sights, sounds and smells cannot pass. Only very intrusive stimulants such as the blaring of the alarm clock or a sudden flash of smart light appear to penetrate the barrier and alert us.

Research is now showing us a very different picture of the resting brain. It seems that even as we sleep our minds continue to respond to stimulants from all of our senses regardless of whether they actually awaken us. By understanding how these subtle signals from each of our senses affects sleep we can achieve truly sensational sleep.

Sight

When exploring the impact of light on sleep the most common place to look is eliminating obvious light sources. Multiple studies have shown that even small amounts of light (such as that from a glowing fear clock) can interfere with sleep quality. When trying to improve your sleep environment just remember, if it glows it goes. Not being able to see the clock can be a benefit in its self. Checking the clock when your are having pains sleeping can increase stress and make sleep even more elusive.

Ambient light is not the only way sight impacts sleep. There are indications that even brief exposure to light — even light that does not wake you up — can interfere with sleep. The flash of headlights, or the glow from the adjoining bathroom can signal your brain to move from deeper to lighter levels of sleep.

Light blocking shades or curtains can help chop the outside distractions. You may also need to work with your family to encourage remove distractions introduced by the resident night owl. If you are unable to get the lights down, consider a sleep mask.

Hearing

Fair as subtle light sources can prevent deep sleep, noises that do not awaken can disturb slumber. Due to the noisy environments soldiers are often forced to try and rest in, the Department of Defense has investigated this jam. The DOD concluded that white noise played at about 40 decibels was useful for smoothing out the sonic background. Considering that a normal conversation rates between 60 and 70 decibels, little is great when it comes to night sounds.

Less formal studies from civilian dream warriors have reported good results with classical music and other soothing tunes. A maximum sleep strategy might be to combine both. Try low volume classical music on a loop. This could also be the basis for an anti-alarm clock. By putting your music on a timer and setting it stop when it is time to wake up, you might be able to ditch the buzzer.

Touch

The pinch of constrictive clothing, rough sheets or springs in the back can all interfere with sleep. Choose soft, loose fitting sleep attire — or none at all. Research on sleeping in your birthday suit indicates that sleeping nude may lead to more energy during the day.

When it comes to your mattress, be picky. A good mattress will be with you for between five and seven years. If you don’t feel comfortable testing the springs while in the sleep store, ask about the return policy. A thirty-day money back guarantee may be on offer. If you shop online, find out about return shipping fees before you check out.

While finding the perfect mattress is a highly subjective experience, Spine-Health.com suggests that those who suffer from back pain will do well to look for medium firmness. As for pillow picking, WebMD says size matters. If your pillow is the unfavorable size, you could end up putting a strain on your neck.

When it comes time to settle sheets and blankets you might want to think thin. Our bodies naturally cool down during sleep. Heavy blankets and thick sheets might support your body from reaching the optimal temperature for rest.

Smell

Scents can trigger long forgotten memories or awaken new feelings. They can also play a surprising role in sleep. The NY Times reported on a spy that indicates pleasant smells during certain parts of the sleep cycle could significantly enhance retention of recently acquired facts.

Even if you are not looking for the brain boost, one of the methods used in observe highlights an necessary scent fact. The study used bursts of scents delivered in intervals to keep the brain from tuning out fragrance. An aroma dispenser that changes fragrances or emits the same scent at intervals will help maximize fragrant effects.

Popular scents for rest include chamomile, bergamot or lavender. In the case of lavender, you might even consider dispensing with the dispenser and growing the real thing in your bedroom. The plant is hardy and perfectly content in smaller pots. The only drawback is the possibility of becoming so accustomed to the scent that it fades into the background.

Taste

Only about two or three percent of the population actually eat while sleeping. These people are suffering from a nocturnal sleep related eating disorder, or NS-RED for short. For the rest of us, the issue of sleep and food has to do more with what we eat prior to sleeping.

According to the Mayo Clinic, a glass of warm milk really might serve you fall asleep. Dairy products such as milk and yogurt acquire tryptophan, an amino acid that the body can convert into sleep inducing chemicals such as melatonin. For the lactose intolerant, try crackers and peanut butter. The combination of high carbohydrates and a small portion of protein seems to be the key.

While not exactly food, nighttime vitamins may give your dreams a boost. Vitamin B6 has been linked with more vivid dreams and easier dream recall.

Try to avoid heavy meals prior to napping — unless you are a sumo wrestler. These famously stout athletes intentionally gorge themselves before napping to help pack on the pounds. Night time over indulgence has also been indited for inducing insomnia.

The Sixth Sense

When trying to maximize sleep, the most important sense may be your sixth sense: well-liked sense. Be careful when performing your own sleep experiments. It may be tempting to rush results by attempting several fixes at once, but this only obscure the benefits of any particular change. If you are moving away from the alarm clock, keep it set for a few minutes after time to wake as a backup. Also, if your sleep problems go beyond the occasional restless night or groggy morning, begin with a visit to the doctor before trying any home fix.
